My New Year's resolution is to never again say "I am so busy right now." It's ridiculous how often I say and hear this. 'Busy' is not going away. No matter how overwhelmed we feel, this is the world we live in. We all make the choice to either adapt behaviors and values to live a full life in this world or continue to play the role of VOB (Victim of Business).
My incredible team, aided by Jennifer Robbins, CEO of Ignite Development, prioritized the time to stop and design an RMA in 2015 that is scalable and sustainable based on these needs of our customers:
- Simplify and Get Real- Instead of adding more process and control, look for simpler ways to connect and communicate
- Need for Process- Practice 'flexible structure' using process as a framework but not a control-based shackle
- Clear Governance- Figure out how, when and why approval occurs, by actually talking about it before commitment
- Scalability- When you're out of time, money and resources, there is only one choice - do less
Simply put, we are going to help our customers say NO to say YES. The new graphic banner at the top of this newsletter clarifies what has always been our focus. People are the key to organizational success. Grow your people, grow your success. RMA has always pushed to help our customers in the life-cycle of Lead, Challenge, and Manage. Each of you may have initially come to RMA through one of those three doors. Our customers ask us for help with projects, leadership and teams, but we know that creating performance change (value) requires a strategy for all three. Think about each of these three focus areas for your team as you prepare for 2015.
