Notice the cautious optimism at the beginning - this project could be different. Everyone seems rational. Then, slowly the surprises emerge until it seems you can take no more. But you do, you pull yourself up and hand carry the project to success. You can see the finish line! And then, WOMP! Biggest surprise ever and it's not good. If you're very lucky and good, you still have the strength to carry the new baggage to a successful end.
The moral of this story - Frustration is the Natural State of Projects.
