For this exercise you'll need three chunk puzzles. Divide people into teams of three. There will always be a coach, someone being coached (who is solving the puzzle) and an observer. The coach will have the answer to the puzzle, and will coach the puzzle solver while the observer watches and notes the coaching techniques being used. Stop play after five minutes and have the teams of three discuss what worked and what didn't work. Next switch roles and repeat the exercise using a different chunk puzzle. After three rounds, each team member will have experienced each role and by the final round, they will have all learned to be mindful of their approach to coaching together.
