My father was partially Sheldon. He was a brilliant analytical engineer who surprisingly also learned to be a great sales person and entrepreneur. One night, he tried to teach his four young children Bridge to no avail. It must have been frustrating to him when we couldn’t figure out what he was talking about. His brain was well beyond ours.
I excelled at math and ended up with a degree in Computer Science. I have a mind for process but I do not have a mind for lots of detail. I got my Masters in Instructional Systems Development (aka training) and found my calling. I’m not Sheldon, but I do have nerd tendencies.
We all bring different strengths and blind spots to our lives. I hope to share with you strategies to build stronger relationships and outcomes with staff who aren’t like you. If you are more Sheldon-like, you’ll benefit from reading ways you can connect with others as well.
