Process Design

A Performance
Consulting Service

You are planning to redesign a critical process, but you are not sure how to get started, who to involve, or how to measure success when you are through.  RMA consultants will bring a repeatable, but flexible process (the PACT™ method) to help your organization design the most efficient and effective process.

How do you design the best new process for your business need?

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Individuals in need of this service are involved in one or more of the areas below:
  • Merging, downsizing, or reorganizing business areas.

  • Clarifying the roles of individuals within a team.

  • Streamlining a process because of a business problem.

  • Creating a new process.

WHAT THE SESSION PROVIDES
Process (re-) Design work requires Planning, Analyzing, Creating, and Transitions (PACT) across the people, process steps, organizational incentives, and technology dimensions.  RMA facilitators assess your process around the following criteria:

  • There is a single owner.

  • There is a single output.

  • There can be multiple inputs.

  • There is a clear measurement of success.

RMA consultants will use your team's business knowledge to design the best new process for your business need.  In the PLAN phase, RMA facilitators lead you through creating a clear Project Charter, including scope definition, risk assessment, business objectives and constraints.  Also in this phase, you will create a clear Project Plan, including estimates, resource allocation, scheduling, communications plans, change plans, and role definitions.

In the ANALYZE phase, RMA facilitators will interview a representative sample of people involved in the process scope including management, staff, administration, and customer roles.  This analysis will be done through group and one-on-one interviews.  A detailed list of opportunities for improvement prioritized by impact and risk will be the outcome of this phase.

Based on the prioritization of the ANALYZE phase, RMA facilitators will lead your staff through the CREATE phase.  The learners will design new processes to ensure ownership.  Finally, a TRANSITION plan will be created jointly with RMA and your staff to manage the organizational change required to implement a new process.
